Thanks for your comments guys! Good point ‘NiceGuy’, I almost forgot about the endless control screens requiring me in install or accept an action. I feel your pain, make the switch and buy a Mac my friend – Its the best computer decision I have ever made.

You seem to omitted a few steps in your list for getting chat to work on Windows. In addition you will probably be asked a series of ‘registration’ questions by each additional piece of hardware and sofware you install, and each will also require undates of their own. Not to mention all the additional ‘Free’ and ‘Value Added’ extras that these vendors will install.

In the end I have never felt that I have ‘owned’ (but rather that I am enslaved to them, ask my wife) a Windows PC even though I have spent ten’s of thousands of dollars on then in the last 15+ years.

I totally agree with what you have said in your article. I bought Vista as sson as it came out in the UK, and by August I had given up and bought a mac. Wow what a difference.

If I was still using my windows pc I would probably go back to XP, but in truth I would still have the same problems.

I will stick with mac, it makes life a lot simpler
